Project Title: Analytics for Administrators: Adapting Novel Clinical Education Platform for Health Administration Education
Funding Level: $14,969
Abstract:
The project extends a novel clinical education platform, the Teaching Electronic Medical Record (tEMR), to health administration education. The tEMR is a fully functional web-based electronic medical record that contains completely de-identified data synthesized from real healthcare encounters in the Indianapolis area. Faculty from the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program will lead the expansion of tEMR functionality in three areas: new management-relevant data, new managerial reporting tools, and new case studies. In a problem based learning approach, the tEMR will be integrated into three courses to enhance learners’ knowledge of analytic approaches, experience with real-world data, and application of data to strategic and operational health administration challenges.
