LEG

The Learning Environments Grant (LEG) program will conclude with the completion of projects awarded during the 2023 grant cycle.

Thank you to all who have contributed to this program, joining in the conversation about teaching and learning and the places where it happens.

We are grateful to the many faculty and staff who submitted proposals that re-imagined the formal and informal learning spaces of departments and schools. We are also grateful to those faculty and staff who evaluated those proposals and shaped the program’s development, to the many architects, designers and contractors of Capital Projects who helped build these spaces, and we are grateful especially to the faculty members and students who brought these learning spaces to life, teaching and learning from one another.

Please consider submitting a proposal for one of the Center for Teaching and Learning’s other grant programs.

What is the LEG Program?

The purpose of the LEG program is to fund the creation of innovative, inclusive, and engaging informal and formal learning environments.

The Learning Environments Grant defines formal learning environments as classrooms and course-related laboratories, and defines informal learning environments as corridors, study areas, and social spaces. Changes to physical spaces can enhance learning and build community among students, faculty, and staff in your school, department, or unit.
