Project Title: Network and Security Linux Objectives Curriculum Enhancement
Funding Level: $8.625
Abstract:
The Computer Information Technology (CIT) Program in the School of Engineering and Technology is a leader in cybersecurity education and aims to provide a relevant education incorporating the skills necessary of a competitive IT professional in the networking and security fields. The information security field is changing every day and the need for graduates to have relevant skills in scripting and use of the Linux Operating System provides an opportunity to incorporate varied technologies in a student’s academic experience and training. CIT desires to take advantage of this opportunity and provide its students with additional opportunities in the workforce after gaining skills in scripting, programming, and the Linux Operating System. This will be done by creating a new course focused on scripting and incorporating Linux education in many classes shared by both the networking and security curriculum.
