The Extended Reality Initiative (XRI) Faculty Fellows Grant provides faculty with technical and instructional support and funds to implement Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) assignments/projects/activities into their course(s) that are designed to improve student learning and success at IU. The Learning Technologies Faculty Fellows Programs have open applications to become a Fellow. Open fellows cohorts include the Digital Gardeners Initiative and the Extended Reality Initiative. If you are interested in building community and connections with faculty from across our IU campuses and exploring more with Learning Technologies, we encourage you to apply! 2025 Curriculum Enhancement Grants – Request for Proposals is now Open!

Do you have an idea for a course or curricular enhancement that you are passionate about implementing? Faculty from IU Indianapolis, IU Columbus, and IU Fort Wayne are invited to submit a proposal to enhance their course/curricula in one of four tracks.
Join us for an information session to learn more about the proposal requirements, develop your ideas, and get your questions answered.
Proposals are due December 2, 2024.

Speed Dating with Learning Technologies encourages participants to date a range of potential technology tools and services, gaining exposure to a lot of resources within a short period of time. Participants at the event will have nine minutes to speed date a specific tool or service. Each Zoom breakout room will feature a resource and matchmakers (presenters).

The final session of the series will focus on use cases for AI/Generative AI in scholarly practices. We will refine the process of prompt design for scholarly pursuits and offer additional strategies for critical and creative academic collaborations between human authors and Generative AI partners.

If you are interested in applying for a 2025 Curriculum Enhancement Grant (CEG), we encourage you to attend this online information and Q&A session. During the 75-min session you will meet the program chairs and
- learn about the program goals, project tracks including the new Student Success Track, proposal requirements, and the review process,
- review examples from past successful proposals, and
- proposal development guidelines including using generative AI.

Your students navigate Canvas and other learning tools differently – both from you and their classmates. The way they approach the learning process and how they express what they know varies as well. This variety means that there is no one way that works for all of your students. The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) guideline, Multiple Means of Action and Expression, recommends options for
- interaction, both with course materials and with each other,
- expression and communication, including how students can communicate what they have learned, and
- strategy development, including support for goal setting, organization, and planning
UDL provides a research-based framework with which to think about multiple ways to support student belonging, learning, persistence, and success. It includes three guidelines which examine designing for engagement, representation, and action and expression

Workshop on Critical Components of an Educational Innovation
|
This hands-on workshop is designed to guide participants in preparing their STEM education projects for grant proposal development and/or dissemination by identifying and defining their critical components. Please bring a description of your project to work on during the session. At the end of the workshop, participants will have created a set of the critical components of their innovations to effectively disseminate their projects to a wider audience.
This in-person event will be held in the University Library Ashby Browsing room on Friday, November 8 from 2 to 3 p.m. EST. Register.
