The Plater-Moore Conference on Teaching and Learning is an annual day of learning and professional development that is free for IU instructors, staff, and graduate students from all academic units. In addition to a nationally recognized keynote presentation, concurrent sessions—in a variety of engaging formats—seek to disseminate best practices and innovation in teaching and learning within higher education. The conference aims to enhance campus collaboration, ignite curiosity, and highlight educational excellence within our learning community.
Building upon the legacy of the William M. Plater Institute on the Future of Learning and the Edward C. Moore Symposium, the Plater-Moore Conference seeks to:
- Promote a culture of teaching and learning that values inclusion, collegiality/belonging, equity, and continuous improvement
- Provide opportunities for educators to share best practices and innovative ideas for teaching and learning
- Promote collaboration and/or interprofessional dialogue among educators from diverse departments and disciplines
- Provide opportunities for professional development and networking
In addition, the spring 2025 conference will contribute to advancing IU’s strategic commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This commitment shapes student success and is undergirded by a focus on faculty excellence and cutting-edge curricula.
The 2025 Plater-Moore Conference on Teaching and Learning will be held on Friday, April 4. The conference aims to enhance campus collaboration, ignite curiosity, and highlight educational excellence within our learning community.
