This toolkit offers concrete suggestions for designing inclusive, antiracist learning environments through five key interconnected aspects of teaching and learning relevant to all courses: Content, Pedagogy, Assessment, Climate, and Power.Inclusive Teaching Principles, Strategies, and Resources, Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, University of Michigan. This resource is based on the CRLT definition of inclusive teaching: Inclusive teaching involves deliberately cultivating a learning environment where all learners are treated equitably, have equal access to learning, and feel valued and supported in their learning. Such teaching attends to learner identities and seeks to change the ways systemic inequities shape dynamics in teaching-learning spaces, affect individuals’ experience of those spaces, and influence course and curriculum design.
Evidence-Based Teaching Guide: Inclusive Teaching, CBE – Life Sciences Education. This guide contains both items for practical, immediate consideration, but also a framework for long-term individual journeys toward fully inclusive classrooms. It focuses primarily on inclusivity across race, ethnicity, and gender.
