Project Title: New Online Course: Trusts & Estates
Funding Level: $5,000
Abstract:
The aim of this project is to develop a 3‐credit online Trusts & Estates course to be offered by the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law starting in the 2014‐2015 academic year. The course will survey the law on family property settlement, including; intestate succession, wills and will substitutes, inter vivos and testamentary trusts, and fiduciary administration. Students will learn how to draft and interpret wills and trusts. They will also be competent in the field when they sit for the bar exam. Although the material covered in the online course is identical to that in a live trusts & estates course, its online delivery will offer students more flexibility and curricular choice.
