Sponsored by the Graduate School and the Center for Teaching and Learning, TA Orientation will take place on August 22nd at the Campus Center.
All first time TAs are required to attend, and current TAs are also welcome. The in-person event will provide valuable information about teaching at IU Indianapolis. Participants will connect with fellow teaching assistants, meet senior TAs, explore inclusive instructional strategies, and receive helpful graduate school resources.

Whether you plan to conduct a quantitative research study or just want to be a more critical consumer of medical education research, a basic understanding of quantitative research is an important skill. This session provides a practical introduction to quantitative research, including learning where faculty can receive statistical support and how to access statistical programs to analyze data. Participants will also become more familiar with Indiana University School of Medicine’s data and survey vetting committee.

Following the keynote address at the Plater-Moore Conference on Teaching and Learning, the Center for Teaching and Learning will host an online summer reading group of Jeff Duncan-Andrade’s acclaimed Equality or Equity: Toward a Model of Community-Responsive Education. Duncan-Andrade argues that students deserve more than equal access; they deserve meaningful educational experiences no matter their diverse interests and needs.
This reading group will meet virtually from 10-11am ET on four dates: June 11th, June 25th, July 9th, and July 23rd. Registering for this event will automatically register you for all four sessions.

HIPs Done Well is a dynamic professional development opportunity designed for faculty to enrich courses that include at least one high-impact practice.
