Through the awarding of small grants, the Learning Environments Grant (LEG) supports the creation of innovative, engaging formal and informal learning environments that meet the needs of both faculty and students. The committee meets throughout the academic year to make funding decisions and is composed of faculty and staff from all relevant units of the university.

ETTA Fall Conference

Educational Training for Teaching Assistants (ETTA) is a program centered on the training and development of graduate students in the area of teaching. Teaching assistants with training exhibit a significantly higher level of self-efficacy than those with no training (Prieto and Altmaier, 1994), as well as being more confident, comfortable in front of students and overall more effective in the classroom. ETTA is designed to meet the needs of teaching assistants (TAs) by providing basic and advanced learning opportunities on topics relevant to their role in the classroom.
The ETTA Fall Conference is the keystone event for the ETTA Program and will set the stage for attendees to improve their effectiveness in the classroom and place them on a path to becoming exceptional instructors. The Conference will be an all-day event with a combination of session formats including interactive workshops, group work, experiential learning and even games. Lunch and snacks will be provided. After attending the conference, attendees will be equipped with tools, tips and techniques to be more effective teachers in the classroom as well as know how to find recourses on campus and how to utilize the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Graduate Office to enhance their teaching throughout the semester.
