This workshop is designed for all levels of Oncourse users. This fast-paced workshop will guide you through the process of using Oncourse to submit your final grades with the SIS Grade Roster tool. For the greatest benefit, participants should have course grades calculated and displaying accurately in the Oncourse Gradebook's Course Grades page prior to the workshop.

This is the second of two explorations of IU-provided cloud services (IUanyWare and IU Box) and how these services can be used to support instruction and learning. You are welcome to attend even if you did not attend the first session. We will review the basics of cloud-based services, the IUanyWare platform and IU Box, but most of the time will be devoted to examining how these tools can be used to help students "create and collaborate" - to work together to produce and share resources.

Third Annual Critical Thinking Symposium with speaker Stephen Brookfield

CourseNetworking (CN) Symposium
May 20, 2013, 12:30 - 5:15 p.m.
Sponsors: CN, the IUPUI Offices of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer, and UITS
To discover more about the CN (www.thecn.com) and how you can use it to enhance teaching and learning, you are invited to attend the CN Symposium on May 20, 2013 at the CN House (9902 Towne Road, Carmel, Indiana 46032). The symposium will provide an opportunity for discussion among faculty, administrators, and staff from multiple institutions to increase understanding of and share best practices in using CN. There is no charge to attend the symposium.
Concurrent sessions (each running about an hour in length) will be held from 12:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m., and will include presentations, discussions and demonstrations. A reception and dinner will follow the sessions.
All faculty, administrators and staff of Indiana University are invited to attend. Faculty who are engaged in utilizing the CN, including those from IU and other institutions, will be on hand to share their ideas as well as participate in and lead sessions. Attendees are welcome to come and go as needed, or just attend the reception and dinner at 5:30 p.m. or later.

• CN 101
• CN as a learning management system, in a competency-based learning environment
• CN as a complement to Oncourse
• CN concepts and big-picture thinking
• Social pedagogies
• IU online initiative and directions (iuonline.edu)
• Best practices of MOOCs
• What should CN be? You tell us!
• FERPA, copyright, and intellectual property in an open learning environment
The symposium is hosted by CourseNetworking, with sponsorship from IUPUI’s Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer and University Information Technology Services.
