Project Title: Enhancement and Modernization of the Biochemistry Course Offerings in the IUPUI Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology
Funding Level: $9,823
Abstract:
Recent changes in the Biochemistry offerings in the Departments of Biology (BIOL) and Chemistry & Chemical Biology (CCB) have provided the opportunity to enhance and modernize the Biochemistry course offerings in CCB. Three courses are impacted: C/K384, a new introductory course jointly offered by BIOL and CCB; C486, Biological Chemistry Laboratory; and C487, a proposed advanced topics course examining chemical biological approaches to the study of specialized metabolism. The goals of this proposal are to support student learning with the development and evaluation of online materials for C/K384 and C486 and to design and offer for the first time, C487. Funds are requested for release time and summer stipend for the two faculty investigators, equipment for the production of podcasts, standardized assessment exams, and resources for the dissemination of the results of the project.
