Extended Reality Initiative (XRI) Faculty Showcase

The Extended Reality Initiative (XRI) Faculty Fellows Grant supports faculty implementing Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) assignments and activities into their courses to improve student learning and success.
This showcase will feature three grant recipients who will present their work and student outcomes. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore each project using VR headsets in the University Library Virtual Reality Lab.

Constructive Dialogue is an approach to conversation that allows people with different perspectives or viewpoints to hold civil and informative conversations without the expectation that they surrender their position or opinion. Instead, Constructive Dialogue teaches participants to focus on seeking understanding in order to work together toward other shared goals. During this session, you will learn the core steps of the Constructive Dialogue method and review proven approaches for integrating this strategy into the classroom, including examples from IU Indianapolis. You will work with co-participants to build a strategy for integrating Constructive Dialogue into your classroom. The session will also explore ways to use the approach to help students navigate conflicts that become roadblocks to group work.

Community Engagement Internship (CEI) Program – Deadline extended to Wednesday, March 19!

The Institute for Engaged Learning (IEL) is excited to announce the launch of the Community Engagement Internship (CEI) program for the 2025-26 academic year. Faculty or staff interested in mentoring a part-time undergraduate student intern during the 2025-2026 academic year are eligible to apply with their community engaged course, research, or project idea. The IEL will cover the intern’s hourly pay as well as provide a monthly stipend to mentors.
