Project Title: Creating an online course for Families and Society

Abstract:
SocR314, Families and Society, is key to both the sociology departmental major and minor as well as to the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) curriculum. It is a course which is also attractive to students outside of SLA. This basic course is currently taught at IUPUI in a traditional face-to-face (F2F) format, denying our students the flexibility they desire in this new era of education. As the drive toward online education expands, it is a necessity for us to begin offering online options if we want our departments, schools, and universities to compete effectively in today’s educational marketplace.
