Adjunct Faculty Fellowship

We are excited to add the first Adjunct Fellowship (and fifth Faculty Fellowship) to our existing cohort at the CTL – two current Forum Fellows and two current Senior Faculty Fellows.

Adjunct faculty are instrumental in supporting the teaching missions of IU Indianapolis, IU Columbus, and IU Fort Wayne. The Center for Teaching and Learning at IU Indianapolis values your voice and presence in many ways and seeks to engage your expertise and experience with the CTL Adjunct Faculty Fellowship.

The 2023-24 Adjunct Faculty Fellowship is part of a larger program of CTL Faculty Fellows that complement existing CTL expertise by bringing their diverse disciplinary points of view, a range of teaching experiences and contexts, direct knowledge of faculty-specific issues, and creative energy toward solving teaching and learning challenges.

During the Fellowship year (with potential for renewal), fellows will:

  • collaborate with CTL staff to assess and respond to the needs of our adjunct colleagues

  • serve as a conduit for adjunct colleagues to learn about and use resources at the CTL

  • focus on designing welcoming activities and orientation to teaching tools

  • develop educational opportunities that directly meet the needs of adjunct faculty

  • create and strengthen a sense of community across the disciplines and professions

  • receive remuneration to be determined by the CTL, Academic Affairs, your Chair, and your Dean

  • support the integration of adjunct faculty into the culture of teaching at IU Indianapolis

As a CTL Adjunct Fellow, you would be part of a vibrant community of scholars immersed in foundational principles of teaching and learning, extend your reach and connections with colleagues across campus, and discover uncharted territory in your own professional growth.

If you have questions, please contact Richard Turner, rturner@iu.edu, CTL Faculty Fellow.
