This interactive Extended Reality Initiative (XRI) session will showcase how a MERGE Cube augments reality (AR) to allow you to interact with digital objects in a unique way. Derek Miller and Jenny Johnson from IUPUI University Library will demonstrate how to download the MERGE EDU application onto your phone and have access to hands-on teaching aids and science simulations at your fingertips. Participants of the workshop will also go away with their own MERGE cube!

The Early Career Teaching Academy (ECTA) invites applications from full-time faculty members in the first, second, or third year of their appointments at IUPUI, IUPUC, or IU Fort Wayne. Faculty will develop both a teaching philosophy and an ePortfolio, laying a foundation for a powerful teaching career that is rooted in a desire for student success through reflective and evidence-based teaching approaches. Submit a Proposal for the 2022 E.C. Moore Symposium by December 5, 2021

Communicate and share new ideas and your latest endeavors in teaching and learning along with other instructors across Indiana. The symposium planning committee invites proposals for three types of sessions — interactive, micro-presentations, and TED-like talks. The symposium will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, on Zoom. 2022 Curriculum Enhancement Grant Request for Proposals

The 2022 Curriculum Enhancement Grant (CEG) Request for Proposals is now open. The CEG provides faculty with technical and instructional support, time, and funds to implement projects that enhance courses and curricula for inclusive and equitable student learning experiences using innovative pedagogies, technology, or high-impact practices like Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences or ePortfolios. Proposal submissions are due by January 31, 2022. Read RFP and submit a proposal.

If so, come join me, Brian Overshiner, on a tour of the IU Health 3D Innovations Lab where we create 3D anatomical models for surgical and educational use. After showing you the resources we use to manufacture innovative medical devices, I will provide some pro tips on how to start creating anatomical models yourself.

Participate in the Fall Forum Fellow Writing Groups
|
Each semester, the Faculty Forum offers writing groups that provide encouragement, accountability, and a sense of community for faculty and staff. Join us for any of our two weekly online groups. In the first 30 minutes, participants will discuss a writing-related topic and share specific writing goals. The remaining 90 minutes will be spent quietly writing. There are two online options: Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Membership is open to IUPUI, IUPUC, and IU Fort Wayne faculty and staff of all ranks, appointments, and schools/centers. Sign up for one day or both days.
