Through the awarding of small grants, the Learning Environments Grant (LEG) supports the creation of innovative, engaging formal and informal learning environments that meet the needs of both faculty and students. The committee meets throughout the academic year to make funding decisions and is composed of faculty and staff from all relevant units of the university.

These sessions will look at how to use the tools in Oncourse to design effective and engaging learning experiences in the online environment. We will explore how to design effective communication, content delivery, learning activities, and assessments that take advantage of the characteristics of an online environment. Participants will walk away with the beginnings of a plan for translating their course content into engaging online learning experiences.

Why does your course need learning outcomes? Articulating your desired outcomes before you teach your course makes it is more likely that students will achieve those outcomes. In this 30-minute online mini-workshop, you will learn the components of an effective learning outcome, see examples of student learning outcomes, and begin to write your own.
