Happenings Publication Guidelines

CTL Happenings is a biweekly online newsletter hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning at IU Indianapolis. The Happenings is distributed twice monthly on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Its purpose is to support teaching excellence across the IU Indianapolis teaching community by sharing timely, relevant, and evidence-informed resources, opportunities, and events.

Content submission

To maximize the number of educational development opportunities we can feature, please submit announcements using the News Item Request Submission Form at least 10 business days before the desired publication date.

While we understand that time-sensitive announcements arise, inclusion of late submissions cannot be guaranteed. We will make every effort to accommodate them whenever possible.

Submission guidelines

• Each submission may include only one link.
• The editorial team reserves the right to edit submissions for length, clarity, consistency, and adherence to IU brand and editorial style guidelines.
• The editorial team reserves the right to determine final placement and publication timing.
• Submissions must be received at least 10 business days before the intended publication date.

Publication Hiatus

The newsletter is not published during the winter holiday break or during the months of June and July.

Newsletter issue types

To better serve the IU Indianapolis teaching community, the Happenings now alternates between two formats: a Main Issue and a Highlights Issue. This approach allows us to share shorter, more focused newsletters with timely and relevant content.
