This interactive session invites participants to step back from the rush of a new semester and reflect on the relationship between well-being, teaching, advising, mentoring, and student support.
Together we will explore:
- What rest means in our own lives and professional contexts
- How our experiences of rest and well-being shape the way we show up for students and colleagues
- The foundations of Pedagogical Wellness and how the framework connects educator well-being, teaching practices, and student experience
- Opportunities to participate in the 2026–2027 Pedagogical Wellness Faculty Learning Community
This hybrid session is open to faculty, staff, advisors, mentors, and other student-facing professionals. Whether you are planning to join the FLC or are simply curious about Pedagogical Wellness, all are welcome.

Discover how custom AI assistants can help streamline your teaching and learning workflows. In this interactive session, you'll explore Google Gems, learn practical faculty and student use cases, and build a Gem of your own.
We'll begin with a brief overview of generative AI tools available at IU, including important considerations for working with institutional data. Then we'll introduce Google Gems, demonstrate how they work, and showcase examples designed to support common teaching and learning tasks.
The majority of the session will be hands-on. Working in small breakout groups, participants will create or adapt a Google Gem to address a teaching, learning, or productivity challenge. We'll conclude by sharing ideas, discussing potential applications, and providing resources to help you continue experimenting after the workshop.
